Week 8 - Initial Solution

We started our week with a brainstorming + quality time session. We felt like we needed a different environment in order to release our creativity.

We started with a nice breakfast and then went straight to business.

After 7 weeks of searching for our need, defining it and searching for optional solutions, it was time to find the right solution for our need. We understood that our mission is not easy, and after talking about it, we understood that it's even harder than we thought. Of course, this was not going to stop us ;)

We knew that our prototype should be based on CBTi techniqes as it was proven to be the most helpful solution for insomnia. However, taking something that is based on a patient-therapist treatment is not easy to transform to a physical prototype. We asked ourselves "How can we build a solution that is not just functional, but also emotional and empathetic?". Accordingly, we started searching for techniqus that we can take from the CBTi world that would be relevant for us.


Our Initial Solution

A night lamp that simulates breathing and initiates a soothing sleeping routine

•Cognitive restructuring by guided imagery

•Relaxed Breathing accompanied by music of your choice and adjusted lighting

•Sleep hygiene focusing on getting out of bed in case of inability to fall asleep after 20 minutes.
