Week 9 - Speed Mentoring Event

Updated: Jan 20, 2020

We took part in a speed mentoring event with the following mentors:

- Hagit Alon - JOY

- Itai Pries

- Mor Shani

- Spock

We had 20 minutes with each mentor to present our ideas and get as much feedback as possible from them. It was interesting to see how each mentor saw things from a different perspective and focused on different aspects of our presented solution.

Main key points that emerged from the mentors:

- Is the light going to disrupt our users? How can we make sure that it won't?

- Personalization? Man/woman voice? Breathing pace?

- Maybe focus on a narrow age range than what we decided on now? (20-50) Or even do the segmentation verbally and not by numbers.

- How do we update the content if we do so?

- There are different levels of personalization, decide on a level.

- Feedback from the prototype- For example, how long it took the user to fall asleep will encourage the user to return

- Adaptive - For example, one day preforming mindfulness, reporting the level of effectiveness and according to the success of the method continue with the same method or change.

- The importance of feedback. Maybe combine biofeedback in our prototype?

- Search for the one thing that will make the users use the prototype each night.

- Technology that detects sound of breathing and/or body movement and provides feedback according to that.

- Search for what brings our prototype the added value!

- Tagging sentences that show a problem/something positive/negative and accordingly the prototype knows how to respond. Something that understands the nature of the sentence and not something as specific as Siri.

- Seems as the cognitive restructuring element isn't combining well with the relaxation and sleep hygiene elements. Active VS inactive.

The mentors raised important and interesting points that opened new ways of thinking. This coming week we will process all the information and think about how we can improve our prototype :)
